It’s the Final Countdown!

From the Desk of Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings.

The clock is ticking, and the buzz is building with just two weeks remaining until the former Belleville Police Station at 93 Dundas Street East comes down! On September 9th, 2025, Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings (Habitat PEH) will make history with the demolition that marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for our community.

Preparations are well underway. The fencing is up, invitations have gone out, and anticipation is in the air. Soon, we’ll gather together to witness the dramatic moment when the claw makes its first swing—and one lucky individual will have the honour of pushing the button to set it all in motion. This unforgettable opportunity is available to anyone who donates $50 or more by August 31st, automatically entering them into the draw for this once-in-a-lifetime moment.

This spark will ignite into something greater, that something being Habitat Village, a 66-unit affordable homeownership condominium community designed with sustainability, inclusivity, and connection at its heart. With shared green spaces, a daycare, and a community centre, Habitat Village will be a place where families thrive and neighbours become friends.

As the countdown continues, we invite you to be part of this history-making moment. Every donation brings us one step closer to turning this vision into reality and ensures that what comes next is rooted in hope, security, and community.

Our team will also be live-streaming the ceremony on September 9th at 11am (EST), so you can catch it no matter where you may be in the world! Make sure you are following our social media channels and enable notifications to stay in the loop. Together, we’ll watch the old come down and celebrate the beginning of something extraordinary.

To donate, learn more, or secure your chance to “push the button,” visit HabitatPEH.org today. The countdown is on—don’t miss your chance to be part of it.
