About Us

What Habitat for Humanity does is much more than just sheltering people, it is about providing an opportunity. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

HAZZEM KOUDSI

Habitat for Humanity in Prince Edward-Hastings has helped contribute to housing inventory for over 25 years. We have partnered with families, developers, contractors, volunteers, donors and suppliers to meet the growing demand for affordable home ownership.

The demand within our community is greater than ever and has placed significant pressure on increasing the supply of safe and decent homes in our region. It’s no secret that the average price of homes in our region has more than doubled over the past few years. This increased demand paves the way for us to be innovative in the way we serve people throughout Prince Edward-Hastings on the path to resilience with a safe and stable place to live.

I am committed to working with community partners to identify build opportunities that result in more homes built. This partnership is also extended to our donors who come to the ReStore to shop or donate gently used items that can be resold to help fund future builds or also give monetary donations. I’m also thankful for the continued support of our volunteers who come and help in the ReStore and who also help with our builds. Whether donating or volunteering, we are very appreciative of the community involvement that gives families a safe and decent place to live. This is important because communities are enriched through the joy of home ownership and through charitable giving, which makes a positive difference in all our lives.

My goal is to build on our past accomplishments in the Prince Edward-Hastings area and make significant advancement in supplying affordable homes to hard working families.

Once again, I am grateful for the support we receive from members of the community. We look forward to your continued support as we embark on our journey to identify transformational opportunities that can make a difference in all our lives.
