How your gift keeps building
A house costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. So what does $50 a month actually do? Here is how it works at Habitat Prince Edward-Hastings.
Your gift goes to building. Our ReStores in Belleville and Trenton cover our overhead, so every dollar you give goes to the build fund.
The family buys the home. Families who partner with Habitat carry a bank mortgage and a zero-interest loan from Habitat. They contribute 500 volunteer hours and complete homeowner education before they get the keys.
Their payments build the next one. Every mortgage payment comes back to the build fund and goes into the next home.
So the $50 you give this month helps build a home. Then it comes back and helps build another. And the $50 you give next month does it again. That is what Builder’s Circle means: a gift that stays at work.
Choose your role in the work
Every gift enters the same cycle. Pick the level that fits.
$25 a month. You keep the work moving. The materials and supplies a build uses every single week. The lumber that has to be there Monday morning so the crew can start.
$50 a month. You turn a structure into a home. Floors, fixtures, paint, the front door. The day the drywall dust is gone and a mother stands in the kitchen picturing where the table will go.
$100 a month. You stand with a family the whole way. Family support and homeowner education, from application to keys and beyond. Months before anyone gets a key, a family sits in a classroom learning what a mortgage means when it is theirs.

Families who partner with Habitat are employed and priced out of ownership by a market that moved faster than their earnings. Home prices in Belleville rose 101% over the past decade while household incomes rose 38%. They apply, qualify through a bank’s own credit review, contribute 500 volunteer hours, complete homeowner education, and buy their home with a bank mortgage and a zero-interest loan from Habitat.

Thirty years of keeping our word
Habitat Prince Edward-Hastings has built homes with local families since 1995, with zero mortgage defaults in thirty years. Across Canada, Habitat homeowners report better physical health (73%) and better mental health (79%), and half of parents say their children are doing better in school (Deloitte, 2025). Habitat Village will bring 66 more homes to Belleville. More families, same mission.

Builder’s Circle gifts go to the build fund, which funds whatever is under construction now and next. That keeps your gift working continuously as projects finish and new ones start.
Yes. You receive a receipt for each gift by email, and a consolidated annual receipt each February.
You will receive an email to show to our ReStore staff. They will then provide you with a discount card for use every time you visit us. If you ever forget your card, the staff will also be able to look you up by name for your discount.
Yes! Every existing monthly donor is a Builder’s Circle member and receives every benefit, including the ReStore discount.
