Hazzem Koudsi, CEO
In my role as CEO, I am responsible for my team and helping to solve the housing crisis. Through donors, employees, and volunteers, my role is to help increase housing supply and create opportunities to support hardworking families needing a hand-up to transition from renting into affordable homeownership. In turn, this creates space along the housing continuum for the unhoused to find new housing that wasn’t previously available.
Steve Neil, Director of Construction
At Habitat for Humanity, we are committed to providing affordable housing that strengthens our community and fosters lasting stability. Building on this mission, I focus on advancing energy efficient homes that reduce utility costs and promote sustainability for homeowners. As an Architectural Technician and Registered Energy Advisor (REA), I bring the technical expertise and practical experience necessary to design and deliver housing solutions that are both cost-effective and environmentally responsible! Working with the volunteers and the great deserving families we support is the added bonus of working here.
What do I love about working at Habitat??? It’s like Christmas every day. As a community and corporate donation-based thrift store, we never know what unique, exciting, extraordinary pieces are on the truck from it’s daily pick-ups. Aside from that, it’s the bigger picture; the behind the scenes work that makes being a part of this team amazing. It’s knowing that the dollars earned from the sales from our two ReStores stay in our own community and helps build homes in our own community. With rising costs of home ownership, I am proud to be a part of an organization that gives a hand up to deserving families on their journey to owning their own home as we all deserve a safe and decent place to live.
Cindy Windsor, ReStore General Manager
With just over two years as Store Manager at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Trenton and over 20 years retail experience, I am proud to work alongside an incredible team and for an organization whose mission and values I truly believe in. Every day brings something new, and one of the most exciting parts of the job is answering the back door for donations — it feels like Christmas every time because you never know what treasures will come in next. I love being part of a workplace that helps support our community while giving donated items a second life.
Rachel Paul, Trenton ReStore Manager
Frank Sist, Warehouse Manager
I love working at Habitat because it’s not the same thing everyday. Being on the road doing pickups wondering what new treasures we are picking up.
Also working with the great team we now have in place. It’s a great place to work and I enjoy coming into work every day.
I feel like I stumbled into working at Habitat PEH, and I could not be more grateful that they welcomed me to join their team. I have always had a passion for learning about new people and supporting them in whatever way I can, and in this role I’m able to do just that! My day-to-day can look vastly different from one to the next, whether it’s meeting with a Habitat family, running interviews for potential new staff, or engaging with volunteers – but that’s what keeps it interesting.
In no other previous job have I been able to see the direct impact of my work, but when a new Habitat family opens up to me and shares the story of what their new home, a true space to call their own, means to them….it brings upon a different kind of proudness and leaves me speechless. Being able to make a difference in someone’s life to give a hand-up in creating stability and generational success, makes it all the more worthwhile to come to work each day.
Meg Langton, Family Services and HR Manager
I love working at Habitat for Humanity PEH because I get to help others. I know that the work I do helps local families achieve affordable homeownership. Through affordable homeownership, families can experience the safety and stability that owning a home offers. I love spreading the word about the work we do and the impact we have on the families we support. I hope to help educate the community about the power of affordable homeownership. I feel honoured to be part of such an incredible team that truly values the work we do at Habitat PEH.
Emily Siegner, Events & Volunteers Coordinator
Sam Corney, Office Manager
I love working at Habitat, because it lets me feel like I’m a part of something bigger than myself. I grew up in an unstable environment, never getting to stay anywhere long or put down roots. I know how that can affect a child and family. Every family that we can help obtain a safe, stable place to live is a big win to me!
As Office Manager, I get to do all the admin tasks that fill in the gaps between everyone else’s positions. It keeps every day different and exciting.
